Where to spray, why not to rub, and the one step that makes a scent last into the evening.
Where to spray
Pulse points are warm, and warmth lifts a scent: the inside of the wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears. One spray on each is plenty.
Do not rub
Rubbing the wrists together crushes the top notes and makes a fragrance fade faster. Spray, then leave it to dry.
Soften the skin first
Fragrance holds on to skin that has been moisturised. Smooth on a body oil or an unscented cream first, then spray.
Layer with care
A body oil in the same accord makes a scent last longer and wear closer. Keep other scented products to a minimum so the fragrance stays clear.
Keep it well
Store bottles away from heat and light, cap closed. A bathroom windowsill is the worst place for a fragrance; a drawer is the best.
