Fewer pairs, made properly

Fewer pairs, made properly

We make a small range of shoes and make each one the long way: leather cut by hand, uppers pulled over wooden lasts and left to set, soles stitched rather than glued.

It takes longer, and it means a pair can be resoled and re-heeled for years instead of thrown away when the sole wears through.

Features Gridfeatures-columns

Three or four columns divided by hairlines — a fine gilt icon, a serif title, a line

How they are made

Welted soles

The sole is stitched to a welt, not glued, so it can be taken off and replaced.

Leather-lined

Leather inside as well as out: it breathes, softens and moulds to the foot.

Hand-finished

Every edge is trimmed, inked and burnished by hand before the shoe is boxed.

Resoleable

Worn soles and heels can be replaced, so a good pair outlasts many seasons.

Client Notestestimonials

Client notes as cards on a linen band: stars, the words in the serif, the client (photo or a gilt monogram) and the piece they bought, linked. The head shows the store's Queek rating, or the average of the notes' stars. Arrows and a hairline gauge page the cards past three; a phone swipes them.
